   I keep trying other editors as well, but I always seem to come back to BBEdit. After watching a few friends fly on emacs, I’m tempted to try using BBEdit w/ the Emacs keybindings option.

I couldn’t for the life of me remember the name of this cereal, but if you pay attention, in Pulp Fiction, Eric Stoltz’ drug dealer character is eating this cereal in one scene. At the time I thought it must be a shared hallucination of some sort, but four people makes a conspiracy.

   Wow, leave it to Tarantino to be cool enough to put that cereal in a scene. I also liked the fact that Tarantino was wearing an ‘Orby’ t-shirt in that movie. That’s a reference to Orbit Magazine, a free paper out of the Detroit area that I used to read all the time when I went to school in Ann Arbor.

   Anyway, I could probaby pound a box of Fruit Brute down just as easily as I can polish off a box of Cookie Crisp (at one sitting…) All hail the monster cereals!

   Wow, this just floated into my consciousness today, the thought of that werewolf cereal put out by the same people as Count Chocula. I wonder if I could find that on the Internet. Googled, “chocula frankenberry boo werewolf” and found this. Perhaps it wasn’t direct kismet, as I have recently purchased a box of Boo Berry positioned on the impulse end of the cereal aisle, obviously aimed at my age group. I’m 38 with kids, I haven’t eaten it since God knows when, I pick it up on a solo outing to K-rogr, after deciding against buying it. My wife will flip when she finds it in the back of the cupboard, hee hee. So anyway, thanks for the find, good looking out. And I didn’t even know there was a mummy cereal! I’m trying to deicide if I have any recollection of that at all. Well, I’m trying to decide, not deicide. No need to kill God over it.

   I loved Monster Cereals when I was a kid and I still do to this day!! I always remembered seeing a wolf in rainbow striped over-alls with the other monster cereals on the back of the boxes for premiums, but I was never sure if he actually had a cereal or not because they didn’t carry Fruit Brute around here. For the longest time my brother and I would try to convince our buddy that there was a 4th monster cereal named “Tooty Fruity” or something like that, but he would never believe us until years and years later when he saw a box in Pulp Fiction. I wish General Mills would bring back Fruit Brute and Yummy Mummy, but just change Mummy’s cereal flavor to “peanut buttery” or “vanilla Yummy Mummy” since him and Brute were basically the same flavor. Damn! Now I’m craving a bowl of Monster Cereal!!
