Lately, in the wake of having started my own business a few months ago, I’ve been wondering what the point of this website is. Masuga.com used to be my go-to website, and used to be my baby, but it’s used only to dig up unsavory details about my past that, because they’re buried deep in the bowels of some Google server farm, will be out there forever.
As there is more and more demand for Masuga Design (and there is, thank goodness!), my time is getting very scarce - and updating a personal blog is NOT my idea of fun. It’s something I used to do because I had time to do something like that. The web was all new territory to me - I was learning something new every day. It was cool to learn how to set up a blog in Wordpress! Oooh! Sweet! I have a blog! Honestly, it doesn’t really interest me anymore. In fact, looking at a computer for fun only interests me so much. There are other things to do - hence the reason I can barely bear to crack open my newsreader anymore.
Because my time is being pulled so tight these days, I ask myself a question before I do anything: Will I make money or will I learn something? Unfortunately, writing a blog post accomplishes neitherfor me. Why are we sharing what we share in the first place? How is it that I have to remind myself that I’m actually a pretty private person and I don’t necessarily want someone from Sri Lanka knowing that I dunked my cellphone? There’s a disconnect there!
I’m not sure where to go from here with this site. I might leave the articles on here for the 60-80 people that come here every day having searched for things like “Wilhelm Scream”, “Marathon Bar”, or “Wolfman Cereal” and make this site more of an introduction to the site where I do spend my time (because it leads directly to money), also known as Masuga Design. Or i might do nothing.
OK, the five minutes of free time I had for today is up. To think I could have spent it with my wife or my dog or outside or reading…

The Do Not Call List…
I like going to various design oriented sites in order to get some inspiration and I found this site:
http://www.masuga.com/. The site’s author said:
“My house is on the national Do Not Call list. Are these slimy, annoying, mud-slinging calls exempt from that?” Basically upset with the automated calls from Republicans just before elections…
http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/pubs/tmarkg/donotcall.htm
In actuality, according to the FTC’s Facts for Consumers page:
“Will the National Do Not Call Registry cover all telemarketing calls?
Placing your number on the National Do Not Call Registry will stop most telemarketing calls, but not all. Calls from or on behalf of political organizations, charities, and telephone surveyors are still be permitted.”
